Easy Cleaner is a nice little freeware application that cleans your windows registry by searching for entries that point nowhere, e.g. to programs that you deleted from your system. But it´s not only registry cleaner, it´s also able to find and delete duplicate files, delete temporary folders and no longer needed backups.

You still should know what you are deleting when using the software, it has a colored indicator that might help you in your decision. And, you always have the undo function which lets you undo selected changes.

Are you using webcams at home or in your company ? Maybe you wondered if it would be possible to record those webcam sessions ? Dorgem is a freeware application that lets you record your webcam(s). As you can see in the screenshot it´s very easy to use. It supports multiple cameras, has a build in webserver and can be used as a security camera because of its motion sensoring support.

Google Mail is a great mail service with a slight flaw that every web based email service has: You can´t add the mail to your offline email client. I don´t like this at all, it´s always nicer to have all recieved and send emails in an offline client for faster access. GmailXp is one of those freeware tools that offer you this. It has a long list of features, for instance a notification if a new mail arrived in your inbox. Lets take a look at some of the features in detail:

Cipher Gui is a very small and compact freeware utility that overwrites every deleted
file three times and prevents in that way any recovery of them. All parts of the partition not assigned to a file are being overwritten three times, in order to prevent any recovery of already deleted files.

Its only 6K in size and works like a charme. Make sure you backup your sensible files before you use this utility.

Versionbackup is a little free for personal use (single pc) application that lets you backup files according to a schedule that you define in the program. It would be possible to load the program at windows start and let it backup the file right after windows started for instance.

Angry Ip Scanner is a small open source application that lets you scan IP addresses and ports, you can even specifiy the range of the scan by yourself. After pinging the target IP it is able to resolve other data like hostname, MAC address and open ports.

It also has additional features, like NetBIOS information (computer name, workgroup name, and currently logged in Windows user), favorite IP address ranges, customizable openers, etc.

The tool is mainly useful for system administrators who want to take a quick look at their network and see whats going on. Plugins enhance the tool tremendously, for instance there are plugins that detect ftp servers, windows shares and more. Pretty handy tool if you ask me.
