X-Mouse Button Control

Blogged in appearance, system by Administrator Thursday November 30, 2006 at about 6:54 pm

X-Mouse Button Control is a windows application to remap your mouse buttons. This software is designed and written for Microsoft Windows XP/2003 x64 Edition but I have also, from version 1.5, built a 32bit version. You are able to provide an application specific mappings, which means one application can use the mouse differently from another. This is useful for games which do not inherently support the extended mouse buttons, because you can map keys to each button.

DeskPins

Blogged in reminder, system by Administrator Wednesday November 29, 2006 at about 8:48 pm

DeskPins can be used to make any application topmost, that is, to keep it above all other windows. Just grab a pin from the DeskPins icon in the system notification area (a.k.a. taskbar tray) and click on any window. This functionality is identical to the “Always on Top” setting found in some programs. With DeskPins you can add this feature to any program!

  • Unlimited number of pins available.
  • Intelligent handling of various application types.
  • Powerful wildcard-based automatic pin support.
  • Global hotkeys.
  • Negligible system resources usage.

Copy Handler

Blogged in files, system by Administrator Monday November 27, 2006 at about 1:01 pm
Copy Handler program is a small tool designed for copy/move files and folders between different storage medias (hard disks, floppy disks, local networks, CD-ROMs and many other).

Advantages of the program:

  • copying data at rates up to 6-7 times faster than standard MS Windows copying (when copying data from one partiton to another on the same physical hard disk);
  • allow full-control over the copying/moving process by pause, resume, restart and cancel features;
  • fully customizable – over 60 detailed options – from setting language (multiple languages) through auto-resume on error, shutting down system after copying finished to very detailed and technical (customizing copy/move thread – buffer sizes, thread priority, …) ending on sounds on specific events;
  • multiple languages support – and more may appear, since the translation process is quite easy;
  • provides detailed informations about copy/move process (currect file, buffer sizes, priority, progress by size and visual bar, status, current and average speed, time elapsed/left, …);
  • can automatically resume all unfinished operations when system starts;
  • limiting count of simultaneously processing tasks (copyings/movings) – tasks are set into a queue and are processed in order it was inserted into queue;
  • integration with system – adds additional commands to context menus of folders and drag&drop menus;
  • this program is open source – just download and use…

RMClock

Blogged in overclock, system by Administrator Thursday November 23, 2006 at about 11:16 pm

RightMark CPU Clock Utility (RMClock) is a small GUI application designed for real-time CPU frequency, throttling and load level monitoring and on-the-fly adjustment of the CPU performance level on supported CPU models via processor’s power management model-specific registers (MSRs). In automatic management mode it continuously monitors the CPU usage level and dynamically adjusts the CPU frequency, throttle and/or voltage level as needed, realizing the “Performance on Demand” concept.

  • Real-time CPU clock and CPU/OS load level determination and monitoring (with optional logging).
  • Detection of virtually any form of CPU clock throttling.
  • Dynamic on-demand CPU performance state (P-state) transitions via real-time adjustment of CPU multiplier (FID) and/or requested voltage level (VID).
  • Dynamic on-demand CPU clock modulation via real-time transitions between CPU clock throttling levels. * Fine-tuning of advanced CPU-specific power management settings for AMD K7, AMD K8, Intel Pentium M/Centrino platform, Intel Pentium 4/Xeon and Transmeta Crusoe/Efficeon CPU families.
  • Complete support for multi-processor (SMP/HT/multicore) systems.

Desktop Earth

Blogged in Styles, image, multimedia, system by Administrator Tuesday November 21, 2006 at about 12:17 am

Desktop Earth is a wallpaper generator. It will generate a high-resolution, accurate representation of the Earth. The imagery is based on NASA’s Blue Marble Next and Earth’s City Lights. Day and night is accurately represented depending on the Sun’s overhead position (which depends on both the time of day and the day of the year) and both the snow cover and the foliage changes with the seasons.

Desktop Earth comes in two versions:

Downloadable: This is for Windows only. Desktop Earth will sit in your systray, run whenever you are logged on, and continuously update your wallpaper with an accurate representation of the Earth. There is no limit on the resolution, and the imagery is calculated from high-resolution 2560×1280 textures, so you can go wild with it even on 30″ flat panel displays. Multi-monitor configurations are also supported.

Online: You select the date and time, specify the resolution up to 1920×1200 (WUXGA), and click Generate. A high-resolution lossless PNG file will be displayed in your browser.
